Windward SCAN App

The Windward SCAN App was launched in the Google Play Store. 

The SCAN App performs the following functions:

  • Import items to an invoice
  • Pick Slip Check
  • New Purchase Order Creation
  • Edit PO/Receiving
  • Physical Inventory or Cycle Count Batch import

You will need a Zebra TC21 or TC26 Android device, an updated POS Device Manager, and some time with our Professional Services team to implement this.

Data Load

The data load function has been improved for supplier and customer contacts.

Now up to five contacts can be added.

Contact Email and Contact Web options have been added.

Self-Service Updater

The latest release build available for Windward System Five can now be found in Utilities via the Windward System Five Live FTP Updater (requires version 6.2.4.232 or later)  Updates for older versions are available through the Windward Learning Academy (recommended with Google Chrome web browser version 90.0.4430.72).

API

The API now accepts and processes as many different barcodes as the user likes for the same part, even from the same supplier. This accommodates situations where a supplier may have several barcodes for the same item, which is often the case for commodity items such as lumber or conduit.

Promotions

A new right-click option on the invoice is added to override a promotion. This effectively removes the invoice line from being included in promotions and the invoice line won't accumulate points or get quantity discounts. The price will turn blue to indicate that the promotion has been overridden.

The “Override Promotion” option won't be visible unless there is an actual promotion available for that invoice line. There is also a new option: “Remove item from Promotions when price manually changed” in the Setup Wizard that will override the promotion automatically when the user types in a price manually.

XML Central

An Enhancement has been made to System 5 to allow for importing and exporting of stock batches, stock counts, and stock scans. This enhancement is faster than the original export as it is not a full export.

The settings for this enhancement can be found under Setup Tools → Utilities → XML Central → Export Settings.

Sales Analysis Report

The new sales analysis report has been further enhanced with the following options:

  • "Run Sales Analysis Report" option under the Users and Security Options section of Configuration will allow users to run the report returning invoices for ALL Sales People
  • "Allow Sales People to Run Sales Analysis Report for Self" option in Invoice Options 3 in the Setup Wizard
This allows control over whether users listed as 'Sales Person' can run the Sales Analysis Report and return invoices for themselves even if they do not have the 'Run Sales Analysis Report' permission for all Sales People. (the sales analysis report requires a registry entry to enable, please talk to your account manager)

Security Management

Added a warning message that gets displayed in the Find Customer Name window when the option to not show customers who the user is not a salesperson for or price level security is enabled. This refers to the "Enforce price-level security" and "Enforce salesperson-customer security" options in the setup wizard.

Now it's easier than ever to Update to 6.2.4.x 

Windward has recently added a self-service updater for customers.  You can receive a link with instructions from your account manager.

Customers are required to be on an active Windward Maintenance Contract or a Windward System Five on Cloud subscriber to install or receive product updates.  The Windward Maintenance Contract is a standard annual business expense for all Windward System Five users.  Windward Software is in business to support your business, and this plan allows us to bring value to you when you need us most.
