In Q4 our Development team deployed over 25 fixes and enhancements, the most important of which resulted in a completely new version of Windward System Five.

Our Newest Version 6.4.0.x was released to incorporate tokenization for customers with integrated credit processing.  

system-five-setupOver the last couple of years, we have moved to a "tokenization" model for card processing, where your customer card numbers never get stored in the software. All of our integrated cloud customers already have the option to use tokenization. Still, there is a large group of customers on the legacy tech stack who needs to migrate over.

It is important to note that the PCI Security Standards Council is now retiring the old method of integration.


The newest version of Windward does not store card information directly and handles "recurring payments" and "payment-on-file" transactions using tokenization.

IW_48 Special Order Expected Date on Invoice Grid

SO-expected-date-on-invoiceAn enhancement has been done to show the Special Order expected date on the Item Grid on Work Orders.

This functionality provides a quick glance at information found on the Special Order Report without having to navigate to and run the report.

Great for salespeople that need a quick answer for a customer.

NOTE: A quick grid customization is required to enable this feature.

PRINTER_SETUP_48 Printout Orientation

print-orientation-clarificationA new dropdown has been added to the Printing Dialog to make changing the orientation of the printout clearer and more user-friendly. Additionally, the paper image in the dialog has also been updated to increase clarity.

The existing checkboxes have been moved slightly to allow for space on the dialog for the dropdown and a larger image.


 ECOMM_48 Windward Connector SDK

Multiple changes have been made to the Windward Connector E-commerce Software Development Kit.windward-connector

  1. Three fields have been added to the SDK: Credit Limit, Price Schedule, and Balance
  2. A new matrix endpoint has been added providing matrix parent inventory details, matrix label names, and matrix axis labels
  3. New Inventory fields have been added: Kit type and Tag-along child information
  4. Tag-along kit inventory publishes to staging if flagged for export
  5. There is no longer a limit to the number of price schedules that can be stored

Why would you use this?

Customers who have their own web developer can use the Windward Connector to help them publish their inventory and download orders into System Five.

 SALESREPORT_48 Protection Plan Report

protection-plan-report-click-pathThe new report is designed to will allow our customers to submit Protection Plans from their customers to the third party provider in bulk, rather than submitting each protection plan individually. The report will provide the Protection Plans sold or returned during a period of time for submission.  Users can generate a separate Protection Plan Remittance report for appliances or furniture plans sold.

Who would use this?
Customers with furniture or appliance stores that sell Pheonix A.M.D. protection plans would use this report to decrease the amount of time spent managing the activation of protection plans.

Work continues to simplify the process even further.
